4x a year I try and just walk around the city, with no set destination, save a lunch place, or weather permitting, a bench to sit and read for a bit. OK OK, a bookstore visit. But my main goal is to find some street or building I've never seen in the city. I've done this about 6 or 7 times now and every time, I make a discovery, even after 35 years here. Yesterday's discoveries included a new paved island with table and umbrellas smack in the middle of B'way and 23rd by the Flatiron, and a bocce court in the northwest corner of Bryant Park. Would love to hear yours, here or any city!
