Amy Sedaris is a scream. Ditto Samantha B on The Daily Show. Love love love Kathy Griffin. But right now, word for word on the page, my money is on Christie Mellor. Her Three Martini Playdate should be read by every overindulgent parent of our time..and you know who you are...and her new Were You Raised by Wolves is the guide to real life for all 20-somethings, but it's fun for anyone to read!

See the video of her commencement address. (I have to tell the quick story of Harry Potter in our house when my daughter was younger. We listened to every book avidly on tape then CD on weekend car rides; Jim Dale was - is! -  just so magnicent. I got to meet JK and Jim at a party back when, and the next day, my daughter, then 8, said, "You met Jim Dale!"

Just hit me this weekend how many people I know named Dan are guys I like and admire! Dan Hicks. Dan Halpern. Danny O'Keefe. Dan Cullen (One of the ABA & Book Sense guys, and a smahtie. Dan Ingram (the voice of NY AM radio in the 60's..and still).
