One reporter's picks. Interesting!! (And I've been to the This Ain't The Rosedale Library store in Toronto, which got its name after some of well-heeled customers of the store asked if this was the Rosedale Library.)
No, not my current state. 12 hrs. ago, yes, but not now. No, the pb of a wonderful book we did last year is just out, and the author has a fun website and you tube clip.
So I felt a sniffle coming on last Sunday, and I just could not afford to be sick. I had to get a week's worth of work done in 2 days and then get on a plane to FL to see 2 sick parents. I started dosing myself, starting with a big cup of fizzy Airborne and a vial of Occilicum (spelling). Airborne is fantastic!! If you haven't tried it this winter, please do. It's a miracle.
We have some very cool stuff online for the publication of Vikram Chandra's Sacred Games, our 'Godfather of Bombay' novel, which is the # 1 Book Sense Pick for January. An interview, glossary of words in this poetic novel, and more.
In an overmarketed world of buzz words and sound bites, it is charming to be reminded of how some companies first got their names. Doral Hotels? After the owners of the first Doral, Doris & Al. The Big Y supermarket chain in New England? From the first small market that was located at an intersection of 3 roads, a Y. Nice.
Sorry for being out of touch; been in FL with sick parents. But they are better and we did have a few yuks after all. But I'm here to report that I used the RailLink to Newark Airport and it was very good! The cab to Penn Station + $14 for the NJ Transit train, then monorail to airport was a LOT less than the absurd $50 cab ride to the airport. The JFK train is also a big moneysaver...although in both cases, once you hit 3 people, long term parking is the way to go....NOT the official airport ones but offsites. Let me know if you need tips on those.
