We do love our furry animals in literature, from hobbits to the mice of Redwall. Newest on the scene are the cats of the Warriors series, which is selling like crazy. (I was secretly hoping that Hyperion's upcoming book on the Long Tail was actually a Watership Down sequel. I'm such a loser.)
If you've missed "Tailchaser's Song" by Tad Williams, run right out and get it now. It's like "Watership Down" but with cats. The heroic quest doesn't disappoint, and there's a bitterly funny twist at the end.
BTW, I said I wasn't gonna get into this blog-reading thing, but I have. I've limited myself to five, however, of which you're one.
