From Shelf Awareness: We're deeply saddened to report that Fup, Powell's Books's store cat, died on October 25 at age 19. She was a longtime resident of Powell's Technical Books and her adventures were chronicled regularly on Powells.com.

The store asks that in lieu of cards or flowers,
donations be made to the Oregon Humane Society in Fup's name.

A trailer for the Out of the Book/Powell's Books film about The Coldest Winter by David Halberstam, the second such production following On Chesil Beach, is available now on outofthebookfilms.com as well as on YouTube. The film will be shown at events hosted by more than 60 bookstores across the country November 11-December 15.
