Based on the Written Nerd's recommendation, I bought a copy of Firmin yesterday. It's about a mouse..okay, a rat..living in a used bookstore. The book is from Coffee House Press, an indie press I've long admired.

I heard Sam Savage read from this at BEA and it sounds fantanstic. Haven't had a chance to read it, but it's in "the pile".
