It wasn't ketchup?
I think I read somewhere that the song came to her in a moment of inspiration while waiting for Cat Stevens, with whom she was touring, to go on a date. That was before Cat went through his big changes and before Carly met James Taylor. Back in the days when you and I were mere children.
