Quiz of the Week

Okay, what was the original title of Catch-22...and why was it changed? No Googling, please. Prize? A Nancy Perl shushing librarian doll!

Comments

Catch-22 was originally Catch-18, and it was changed because the original publisher had a book called Milla 18 on their list at the same time, though I can't remember the author of the other book right this second.

You win. It was Leon Uris' Mila 18 on the same list that caused Heller and his editor to seek another number, and the famous Catch 22 was born. It's better than Catch 18 anyway. Tell me where to send your Nancy Perl librarian doll!
